Downtown Austin Tour

When?

We are currently on our summer break! We will be back with more free tours in September. Private tours are available over the summer for those who can handle the heat.

Public tour schedules are released 2-3 weeks in advance during the free tour season, September through May. No reservations are required, just show up! Don’t see a time that works for you? Private tours are also available. Email Laura at laura@tipstertours.com to set up a private tour.

Meet inside the Capitol grounds, at the benches on the Great Walk just outside the South entrance of the Texas State Capitol building, near the Heroes of the Alamo monument. Look for a guide in a green Tipster shirt.

Parking Recommendation: Capitol Visitors Center Parking, first two hours free unless it’s close to UT Football or event time. Street parking is also available in the surrounding area. Allow 5-10 minutes to park and walk onto the Capitol grounds. Alternatively, find street parking near the end of the tour at 6th & Brazos (free two-hour parking on some blocks of 6th).
