Hear about the landmarks, culture, architecture, and stories of Austin as we walk through downtown.

Public tour schedules are released 2-3 weeks in advance during the free tour season, September through May. No reservations are required, just show up! Don’t see a time that works for you? Private tours are also available. Email Laura at laura@tipstertours.com to set up a private tour.

Inside the Capitol Grounds, at the benches just outside the South entrance of the building.

Details

Meet at the benches on the Great Walk just outside the South entrance of the Capitol building, near the Heroes of the Alamo monument. Inside the grounds, right in front of the building. Look for a guide in a green Tipster shirt.

Parking Recommendation: Capitol Visitors Center Parking, first two hours free (unless it’s close to UT Football or event time). Street parking is also available on 11th or 12th St., Congress Avenue, and the surrounding area. Allow 5-10 minutes to park and walk onto the Capitol grounds.
