The building of Freedmen’s was built in 1869 by a freed slave, in the first “freed man community” of Austin, the name Freedmen’s pays tribute to all that came before the BBQ restaurant and bar that it is today.

The award-winning Southern-Asian fusion, Peached Tortilla, started as a food truck back in 2010 and now has a full blown catering business with multiple trucks, an event space, and brick and mortar restaurant. Check out their Happy Hour aka Social Hour at the brick and mortar location on Burnet Rd.
